I sincerly hope you guys listen to the Superego podcast...thought I would try an include it here on this..blog...thing...place? I did a couple of bits for this episode. It is an absolute blast to do. I pretty much consider these guys geniuses. Along with any guests they have on. Myself EXCLUDED...
I should warn you that there is foul language...which of course is one of the reason why its so fucking funny in the first place
While I've never had the honor of being interviewed by the Elvis Mitchell, I have had the unique privledge of being the person interviewing him. Which is very rare. Elvis much prefers to be the one asking the questions. Also, it was very cool of Marc Maron to be so cool and let us film him during his interview. I have such respect for him as a comic and as an interviewer himself on his WTF podcast.
Big thanks to the both of them

Here is the second mini doc to coincide with this weeks pledge drive over at KCRW. This clip features Warren Olney, who hosts TWO programs at the station: the local show Which Way LA? as well as the nationally broadcast To The Point.
I found Warren to be an incredibly warm and inviting host as we invaded his studio and office space with our small fighting force of a film crew.
As an added bonus, I also received a voice message from him the following day which was an absolute surprise. It's not ever day you get a message from a person, whose voice you hear every day, saying your name.
If you have not already, please consider becoming a member at KCRW: by calling
1-800-600-KCRW or visit http://kcrw.com/join
If you don't live in Los Angeles, as I am aware most of you do not, you can still donate if you listen over the internet. Every little bit helps...
thanks

If any of you have been around these parts before, you might have been able to suss out the fact that I am a big fan of the radio station KCRW. I've been listening to the station for years, and have been a proud supporter for just as long.
To help them raise money during their pledge drive my producing partner and I have made five "behind-the-scenes" mini documentaries about some of the voices you hear beaming out from the KCRW studios to your listening device. Be it car speakers, computer speakers, smartphone, ect.
For the next "business" week, I will post one of these mini docs per day...I hope that you enjoy what you see.
If you listen to the station, here in Los Angeles or on the internet...PLEASE DONATE!
Call 800-600-KCRW or visit http://kcrw.com/join
Also, if you feel so inclined, embed the clips onto your own blog, you can post it to your facebook, or Re-Tweet it to the masses. We just want to try and get the word out about these clips and the incredible radio station that is KCRW...
Thanks,
colin
Blood Sugar Sex Magik is my "island album"...you know, the record you would bring with you if you stranded and trapped on an island. I love it. It changed my life when I first heard it as a kid and it turned me onto so many other bands and musicians from Mike Watt (to whom the album was dedicated), The Meters, Robert Johnson to name a few.
I have held off buying the album on vinyl due to the fact i could never find it, and that it was incomplete. Two of the songs on the original album where not included due to lack of space ("if you had to ask" and "they're red hot").
Today I purchased the limited edition 2LP version, and last night i came across this video...
Been many a moon since we have seen a music video from these fine fellows of music. Happy to have them back. I also LOVE that they premiered their video on IFC.com
Because lets face it, they sure as hell are not going show a music video on MTV, cause they dont play videos anymore. But more importantly, Les and Co. have always been a bit more, independant and Cinematic in thier videos. Makes perfect sense to me.
You can also check out the IFC.com website for an interview with Les: http://www.ifc.com/news/2011/11/primus-tragedys-acomin-music-video-premiere.php
Enjoy!!
